EXCLUSIVE | Naked & Famous x Big John Ltd. WeirdGuy Jean

Naked & Famous Denim just shipped us their latest collaboration with Big John Ltd. The result is incredible! For those of you who don’t know, Big John is the first ever Japanese denim brand. Founded in 1940, Big John originally produced uniforms, but quickly changed after their competition started using cheaper polyester fabrics. They came to the USA and fell in love with denim, namely selvedge denim from the Cone Mills factory. Big John started importing Cone Mills denim fabric to produce in Japan until 1972, when Levi’s put the breaks on selling anymore Cone Mills fabric overseas. Big John turned around and hired famous designer Kurabo to design the KD8, which represents the first Japanese denim ever made.

Big John is known for being “first” and Naked & Famous is known for finding the rarest, craziest denim in the world; it is a natural union between the two brands. Their collaboration jean was produced in the WeirdGuy fit using a 14 oz. selvedge denim resembling raw denim fabric from the 1950’s. They were produced in limited quantities and we managed to snag 22 pairs. They are available now at the shop for $265…not a bad price for a rare jean!
