HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE CHARITY POKER RUN

In tribute to Joel Carman’s biker days, he organized a two-year Charity Poker Run with two local Harley Davidson motorcycle clubs. The course began in Yorkville where Joel and his team of bikers rode up to the Hugh MacMillan Rehabilitation Centre, taking photos and delivering toys to youth patients of the hospital. The ride ended back in Yorkville Avenue, where participating bikers parked their Harley Davidson motorcycles on the street. The events raised over $40,000 in support of the rehabilitation centre.

MOVEMBER SHAVE OFF

After meeting Movember founder Adam Garone, our company launched a fundraising campaign with a unique twist: a “reverse Movember” challenge involving Joel Carman shaving off his signature mustache for the first time in 40 years. This rare moment, along with the follow-up Team RainBROws campaign, gained significant grassroots awareness and media for Movember through a connection with the fashion industry. Teaming with local barbershop Crow’s Nest and footwear giant TOMS, our participants collectively raised over $75,000 for Prostate Cancer Canada.

ANNUAL DENIM DRIVE

For several years, we hosted an annual Denim Drive where consumers donated their previously worn jeans for a great price off a new pair! Between our strong customer reaction and working closely with our branded vendors, we successfully collected over 1,000 pairs of jeans. Partnering with organizations over the years like United Way, Covenant House and Out of the Cold, our efforts garnered strong relationships with several local organizations dedicated to providing clothing and essential services to Toronto’s homeless population.

WORLD PRIDE 2014

In honour of the first World Pride event in Toronto, we collaborated with local artisans to create “The PrideCode”, a powerful image celebrating the city’s devotion to the LGBT community. The PrideCode logo, a rainbow coloured barcode depicting Toronto’s harbourfront skyline, was produced as a capsule collection sold exclusively at our retail store and the World Pride Street Fair. The limited-edition collection sold out and 100% of the proceeds was donated to Fife House, an affordable housing and support services centre for HIV/AIDS survivors.

CHARITY FASHION SHOWS

Over the years, our company has lent clothing outfits to numerous philanthropy groups (UJA, Canadian Cancer Society) and educational institutions (UofT, Schulich, Western). Throughout the years, numerous volunteers have walked the runways styling our clothes raising both money and awareness for cancer research, senior citizen care, children’s critical illness programs and much more! Our many fashion show partnerships over the years have collectively raised $50,000+ for these important causes.

FATHER'S DAY BBQ

On the porch of our iconic 101 Yorkville Avenue location was the home of our annual Father’s Day BBQ. Backed by incredible live musical performers and food provided by HERO Burger, our team spent the weekend grilling up burgers and giving out fun prizes courtesy of our brand partners. All these efforts were done in proud support of Autism Speaks Canada, creating awareness for this incredible organization. Through these many fun BBQS, our company raised over $20,000 for our local Autism chapter.

YORKVILLE RUN

For the past 8 years, our co-owner Daniel Carman has turned his personal passion for running as a gateway to create awareness and raise money for causes that connect to both him and our company. Through our annual partnership with the Yorkville Run, Daniel has raised over $80,000 for organizations ranging from kids sports programs to children’s music groups to youth suicide prevention. Partnering organizations include Special Olympics Toronto, Sistema Toronto and Myles Ahead. Daniel hopes to continue his fundraising runs annually with the community’s support!
